- ABOUT US
Born in Norman and raised in Moore, Bridgette Slone comes into the Oklahoma Today family from the road—she has been a touring musician since 2001, when she released her first country album, Cruise Control. While earning her journalism degree with an emphasis in advertising from the University of Oklahoma (during which time she also was an Oklahoma Today intern), Bridgette toured with country acts including Trick Pony and Johnny Lee.
Bridgette graduated from OU in 2004, and in 2006, she formed the rock band SIVA Addiction. The band released two albums—2009’s Artifice and 2012’s Bad Decisions—and toured with rock acts like Drowning Pool and Papa Roach.
SIVA Addiction went on hiatus in October 2012, and Bridgette is looking forward to a quieter life at home.
“I’m looking forward to my first year of no tours or tour buses and planting my first full-sized vegetable garden in honor of my late Great-Grandpa, who loved gardening more than anything. He would tell me stories about the Dust Bowl and taught me to ‘mind the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves.’”
Bridgette also is excited about working with Oklahoma Today's advertisers.
“I enjoy creating eye-catching pieces for clients. When I can send them something they never imagined possible and they say ‘Wow! That makes me look like a professional business!’ then I've successfully done my job. Oklahoma Today is a perfect outlet for me because I get to know interesting people all over the state. The more people I meet, the more proud I am to be an Okie, Sooner born and Sooner bred.”
Bridgette lives in Oklahoma City with her dog Fletch, a Jack Russell/Dachshund mix.
