Ask and ye shall receive. For Oklahoma Today’s “Give Us Your Best Shot” photo contest, we asked for the best amateur shutterbugs could come up with, and our wish was granted. Eighty-five entrants submitted a total of 264 photos.
“We definitely had our work cut out for us,” says Megan Rossman, the magazine’s associate editor and a contest judge. “There were many good photos to look at.”
From there, the seven-member panel, which included Oklahoma Today contributing photographers John Jernigan and Rebekah Workman, sorted the good from the awe-inspiring.
“Selecting the eventual winners was a time-intensive process,” Rossman says. “The photos went through several rounds of judging over a period of weeks.
We will reveal the Grand Prize winner in our September/October issue, which will appear on newsstands in the last week of August, and here at oklahomatoday.com September 1.
*Judges included Oklahoma Today associate editor Megan Rossman, production manager Colleen McIntyre, editor Steffie Corcoran, art director Steven Walker of Walker Creative, Inc., contributing photographers John Jernigan and Rebekah Workman, and Oklahoma State Parks marketing coordinator Keli Clark. The judges would like to thank Jordan Advertising and Oklahoma State Parks for sponsoring the contest.
