Each week, Oklahoma Today staffers comb through their calendars to find a handful of great events happening across the state. Get out! See Oklahoma! And be sure to let us know what you find, either here or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @oklahomatoday.

Two-Wheeled Tournament

In the sport of BMX, there is no bigger annual event than the USA BMX Grand National Pro Series Final—those in the know simply call it The Grands—and it makes its return to its annual Tulsa home Wednesday through Sunday. Watch the best in the sport compete in rugged, high-flying action and take the opportunity to tour the National BMX Hall of Fame & Museum, which moved to Tulsa from Arizona in 2022. November 22-26. Tickets, free-$10. usabmx.com

Ye Olde Yuletide

Christmas was celebrated in Medieval times with massive, days-long feasts and revelry hosted by royalty. The Castle of Muskogee’s Castle Christmas might come a bit short of living up to that grandeur, but their hospitality is still the stuff of legends. Feats on kettle corn and other snacks while browsing the Castleton Village and the more than two thousand lighted displays. Get around in style, either on the Christmas Train, a tractor-drawn hayride, or the back of Cleetus the camel. A donation is recommended with entry. November 23-December 31. Admission, free. okcastle.com

Flip Side

In most instances it is not wise to exchange dollar bills of any denomination for a single coin, but the Black Friday Coin Show at the Glenpool Conference Center in Glenpool is the exception. See rare, vintage, and international coins displayed by collectors and vendors. Find ancients, gold, silver, graded slab coins, bullion, and more at this free public showing. November 24-25. Admission, free. facebook.com/blackfridaycoinshow

Turkey Run

After a day of gobble-gobbling copious amounts of food on the Thanksgiving holiday, a bit of exercise might be in order to, at the least, clear some room for leftovers. There are Thanksgiving holiday runs every year across the state, but the Tulsa Turkey Trot at the BOK Center is one of the few that occurs the day after the main event. Choose between a 5k or one-mile courses. Registrants get a free long-sleeve T-shirt and, when they cross the finish line, a medal for the accomplishment. November 24. Registration, $35-$45. runsignup.com

Force Conductor

Nothing bonds families like ancient sci-fi warfare, which really helps explain the generational appeal of the Star Wars fandom. While everyone is still home for the holiday, indulge in some sentimental shared nostalgia at the Oklahoma City Philharmonic’s Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back in Concert at Civic Center Music Hall. The iconic film gets new life with a live orchestral score. November 25. Tickets, $27-$102. okcphil.org
