Gold for Oldies
Who said the prime of life has to be when you're young? Whether they've always been fit or they just got in shape, folks age fifty and older are welcome to participate in the Yukon Senior Games. Competitions include billiards, archery, golf, basketball, bowling, table tennis, cornhole, horseshoes, and track and field events. It's never too late to find your inner Olympian. April 17-22. Registration, free-$42. yukonok.gov
Fiddlesticks!
Apologies to Bob Seger, but for music that predates rock n' roll by several decades, visitors will want to head to Greenleaf State Park in Braggs for the Greenleaf Old Time Music Festival. It's six days of jamming out with the American fiddle and classical dance tunes with a bevy of national and international artists. But it's not just for listeners—the festival includes free workshops to learn techniques for fiddle, banjo, and guitar. April 18-23. Admission, free. glotma.org

Unforgettable
April 19, 1995 was a nightmare for Oklahoma and the entire country. Each year, the Oklahoma National Memorial Museum holds a Day of Remembrance to share memories of the people affected by the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing—those who died, those who survived, and the world that was forever changed. The Remembrance Ceremony is held at First Church, after which bagpipers will lead those assembled to the Field of Empty Chairs at the museum. April 19. Admission, free. memorialmuseum.com
Veni Vidi Vino
Gearheads like to disassemble vehicles. Computer nerds like to take apart computers. But for wine fans, it can be nigh impossible to dismantle a bottle of Château Lafite Rothschild. Thankfully Oklahoma State University hosts Wine Forum of Oklahoma every other year. Enjoy two days of wine seminars, wine tastings, food and wine pairings, and more as you discover the basics of wine production. Consider it conversational research for the next time you crack open a bottle with friends. April 21-22. Tickets, $225-$500. business.okstate.edu

There's something to be said about owning up to mistakes, especially when those mistakes lead to the creation of a beloved 1980s movie. Celebrate the Footloose Festival in Elmore City, the town that inspired the film. There will be an '80s Outfit Contest, so pull the beige Member's Only jacket out of the closet and head downtown for food trucks, dance contests, lawnmower races, and more. The big street dance starts at 5 p.m. in the Elmore City Community Center. Stretch to your own desired level of looseness before taking part. April 22. Admission, free. facebook.com
