Please be prepared, upon arrival at the Hudiburg Chevrolet Center at Rose State College in Midwest City, for the startling realization that Celtic Woman, which performs Postcards from Ireland this week, is actually four women. Yes, this band performs captivating Irish music as a plural, not a singular. And when that sinks in, don’t be shocked when Irish dancers, bagpipers, and more join them on stage. April 27. Pioneering Spirit
Why party like a rock star when you can party like a city? Most birthdays involve cake, an off-key rendition of “Happy Birthday,” and a minor existential crisis or two. But when a city celebrates its birthday, like Okemah Pioneer Days, there is a full-on carnival, a hog-calling contest, and a parade. Clearly, this is a city that knows how to party. And unlike most adult birthday parties, kids are welcome to attend and take part in balloon stomps, turtle races, and more. April 27-30. Admission, Free. okemahok.gov

Shear Excitement
Anyone who has been in a barber shop when a small child is brought in knows that watching someone get a haircut can be extremely entertaining. Multiply that fun more than 100 times during Woolly Weekend at Shepherd’s Cross in Claremore. This three-day event includes a chance to see more than a hundred sheep being shorn and their wool processed. Kids can take part in activities like weaving, a coloring contest, and petting animals in the Farm Animal Barn. April 28-30. Admission, Free. shepherdscross.com
Norman Rock City
The sleepy city of Norman, known for its sedate college football games and mild-mannered citizenry, will try to break out of its mold during Norman Music Fest. For three days this idyllic hamlet on the plains will feature more than a hundred bands performing hip hop, funk, rock, country, world music, and electronica, among others. From massive outdoor stages to small cafe shows, there’s music for every taste in the Downtown Norman Arts District. April 28-30. Admission, Free-$300. normanmusicfestival.com

Tiny Lobsters
It’s a common refrain at seafood restaurants: “Ugh, there’s just too much lobster!” Stop stressing about the over-abundance of lobsters at the Bell Cow Boil Crawfish Festival in Chandler where diners can instead enjoy red beans and rice, hot dogs, desserts, and lots of tiny lobsters called crawfish. Enjoy live music, a silent auction, and a kids’ activity area while digging in to an all-you-can-eat crawfish feast. April 29. Tickets, $20. chandlerareachamberok.com
