Fore a Good Cause
Call your caddy and put on your best ugly plaid pants to raise funds during the Operation Aware Golf Tournament at the Cedar Ridge Country Club. Stop by early for breakfast, compete on the beautiful course throughout the morning, break for lunch provided by the Tulsa-based country club, and bid on exclusive items at the silent auction. All proceeds from the tournament and auction go to the educational services provided by Operation Aware at schools in Northeast Oklahoma. August 12. Admission, $350. (918) 582-7884 or operationaware.org.
Spongy Showdown
RYSE Academy of Martial Arts in Woodward is giving parents the night off. While they're out wining and dining, kids will be gearing up for a massive Nerf Wars battle. There will be games, snacks, and Nerf darts whizzing every which way. It's one of the Academy's most popular events of the year and always sells out, so if you'd like a night off while the kids enjoy mock battles, sign up soon! August 16. Tickets, $19.99. (580) 254-2144 or rysemma.com.

Cowboy Country
From their Old West-style painted album covers to the twangy sound of their music, Flatland Cavalry have fully embraced the cowboy culture of their home state of Texas. Hear hits like “A Good Memory,” “Devil Off My Back,” and “Honeywine” as they take the stage this week in the historic Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa. August 16. Tickets, $18-$33.
