Each week, Oklahoma Today staffers comb through their calendars to find a handful of great events happening across the state. Get out! See Oklahoma! And be sure to let us know what you find, either here or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @oklahomatoday.

Many Boddy Problems

Most board games are fun at first, but six hours, four arguments, and a ruined friendship later, and even losing comes as sweet relief. Tulsa Theater found a perfect solution: Their production of Clue, showing February 11 to 16 at Chapman Music Hall, combines the thrills of a whodunnit murder mystery and the unfettered delight of watching professional actors portray the hilarious cast of colorful characters. And at the end of the show, you don’t have to apologize to anyone for what you said in the heat of competition.
February 11-16. Tickets, $44-$79

Down for the Count

Oklahoma has a rich musical history, but it’s hard to imagine jazz without the likes of Charlie Christian, Chet Baker, Barney Kessel, and more Okies who electrified the genre—literally (Christian was the first to attach a pickup to his acoustic guitar in 1936). So it makes sense that the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Jazz Festival would be one of the most swinging weekends in the state. This year, the festival’s fifty-fifth in Weatherford, promises to be the coolest yet, with performances by the legendary, Grammy-winning Count Basie Orchestra.
February 13-14. Tickets, $10-$55.

Western Wiles

Trying to find the perfect gift for you love driving you crazy? Don’t go walkin’ after midnight: Just take your date to the ValenCline’s Day Dinner & Show February 14 at the Dominion House in Guthrie. Hosted by the Pollard Theatre Company, this evening of delicious plates from chef Ben Coffin and soulful Patsy Cline tunes sung by Shelly Phelps are sure to have you back in baby’s arms.

Solid Goldsberry

The name Renee Elise Goldsberry may sound familiar: She’s had roles in soap operas, Oscar-winning films, and beloved TV series including Star Trek: Enterprise, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and The Good Wife. But it’s her honeyed voice that made her a standout on the Broadway stage and beyond: Watching her belt out “Satisfied” as Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton or steal the show as Wickie Roy in Girls5eva will make you an instant fan. This Valentine’s Day, Goldsberry’s talent will be on full display during a concert at the McKnight Center in Stillwater. If you miss out on tickets, the performance also will be simulcast in the outdoor plaza so everyone can feel the love.

We’re Rooting for You

If you indulged a little too much on candy in heart-shaped boxes, that’s just fine. You can burn off all those extra calories and then some during the Ancient Trail Trek in the Keystone Ancient Forest in Sand Springs. Runners of all ages can tackle a 5-, 10-, or even 15K among some of the most beautiful and venerable trees in the state—many of the post oaks have been growing since the eighteenth century, and some of the cedars are more than five hundred years old. Runners trekking this piece of the original Cross Timbers also might spot fascinating wildlife, including owls, bobcats, and more than eighty varieties of butterflies.
February 15. Registration, $30-$60
