Each week, Oklahoma Today staffers comb through their calendars to find a handful of great events happening across the state. Get out! See Oklahoma! And be sure to let us know what you find, either here or on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @oklahomatoday.
Very Superstitious
Black cats. Broken mirrors. Being named "Stevland." All of these are considered bad signs, which is probably why Stevland Judkins changed his professional name to Stevie Wonder before he wrote "Superstitious." But a good sign is the one in front of the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center in Oklahoma City, which will lead you inside for the hilarious Superstitions, performed by the Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre. While the play deals with the meaning of bad luck, the really unlucky ones out there are those who miss seeing this show. February 23-March 5. Tickets, $20.90-$62.70. oklahomacontemporary.org/performance/superstitions

Let Them Fight
Much like Godzilla fighting King Ghidorah, some battles need to happen. Mongoose versus cobra. Coke versus Pepsi. And, in Stillwater, the fated showdown between nature's greatest foes: bears versus cowboys. It's Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Baylor Bears in a men's basketball match for the ages on the court of Gallegher-Iba Arena. Which team will reign supreme? We won't know until the final buzzer. February 27. Tickets, $10-$200. okstate.com
Music To Our Ears
Edmond's Armstrong Auditorium is getting a reputation for pulling in some top-notch talent from around the globe and it's closing out February with another must-see show. The Lviv National Philharmonic of Ukraine began in 1902 and its storied history and hard-practiced talents will be on display during this show. Famed violinist Andriy Tchaikovsky will perform under the direction of Theodore Kuchar for an evening of soaring melodies and moving music. February 28. Tickets, $45-$119. armstrongauditorium.vbotickets.com

Blast From the Past
History, like Peter Frampton, loves to come alive. And for Oklahomans seeking a peek into the past, there's a great opportunity ahead in Fort Towson during Fort Towson Living History Education Day. This once-a-year event features reenactors giving educational demonstrations of fort living during the Mexican-American War in the 1840s. Guests can see civilians, including trappers and storekeepers, and soldiers in the full gear of the time. For young or old, this is a tremendous opportunity to reconnect with Oklahoma history. March 2. Admission, $4-$7. okhistory.org/sites/forttowson

Tree Huggers and Art Lovers
Nature is a gift that is meant to be enjoyed. Nature is also, very often, found outside and sometimes it's in fairly inaccessible places. That's where those brainiacs with the paintbrushes come in: What if we could enjoy nature without having to be right there in nature? The NatureWorks Art Show & Sale at the Tulsa Marriot Southern Hills is the place to find landscapes and wildlife artwork that will tide nature lovers over until their next trip to the great outdoors. Painters and sculptors from across the country will be on-hand to sell their art at this memorable show. March 4-5. Admission, free. natureworks.org/art-show
