Cross Your Heart
The Lazy E Arena is home to many a rodeo, but that's not all. Trade in pounding hooves for revving engines when the Kicker AMA Arenacross & Freestyle Motocross Show arrives in Guthrie. Part of the national tour, this high-flying experience features some of the best pro and amateur motocross competitors in the world. See why fans consider this the greatest show on dirt. January 27. Tickets, $25-$40. arenacrossusa.com
Mouse Music
It's hard to say precisely what makes some animated movies so irresistible. Sometimes the art is too good to look away from or the voices are so emotive you forget you're watching a cartoon. But at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, the OKC Philharmonic is proving that music makes the movie with Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies. Over two nights, audiences can revel in the songs that touched their hearts and inspired their imaginations as the OKC Philharmonic dives ears first into iconic Disney music. January 27 & 28. Tickets, $27-$94. okcphil.org

We Got Both Kinds
People looking for more bang for their buck ought to start their search around Tulsa, because there's a bargain happening at the BOK Center. Rhythm lovers and blues lovers can come together at the Oklahoma R&B Bash featuring tunes from Grammy-nominated musicians including Keith Sweat and Jagged Edge, along with plenty more artists who will keep the groove strong all night long. January 28. Tickets, $43.50-$263.50. bokcenter.com
Twist and Trout
There's no good reason for kids not to have an Oklahoma fishing license. At $7 a piece, it's an investment in our state and their future. And everyone will need a fishing license at the Trout Fishing Tournament at CCC Lake in Perry. With prizes for largest fish, smallest fish, and biggest stringer, it's fun regardless of experience level. The first three kids to register and participate will receive a free fishing pole. January 28. Registration, $15-$25. perryokchamber.com

Run for Your Leaf
Distraction is a big part of distance running and there's no better distraction than Oklahoma's incredible natural vistas. See for yourself in Braggs during the Greenleaf Trail Run at Greenleaf State Park. Lace up those sneakers for a 4-, 8-, or 12-mile run in one of the most beautiful locations in the state. January 28. Registration, $60-$75. runsignup.com
