Let’s Take the Scenic Route
Treadmills are convenient, but watching sitcoms with the subtitles on in a crowded gym loses its charm very quickly. Ditch the indoors this weekend and get some fresh air at Greenleaf State Park's Greenleaf Trail Run. Options include four-, eight-, and twelve-mile runs for racers to choose from. Take in some nature with your workout this time around. January 30. Admission, $50-70. (918) 487-5196 or runsignup.com
Medicine Park gets icy during Plunge Week, culminating in the Polar Plunge.
Take a Plunge
Medicine Park is in for a chilly time during Plunge Week. It commences with the Polar Plunge Sock Hop, which is sure to make dancers sweat, and ends with the twenty-third annual Polar Bear Plunge, which will have the opposite effect. Other events include theater performances, live music, parties at Park Tavern, and guest speakers. January 30-February 6. Sock Hop Tickets, $35. (580) 591-3618 or medicinepark.com/festivals/
