To yee or not to yee?

That is the question at the International Finals Youth Rodeo in Shawnee. Grab your hat and spurs and see competitors go lasso-to-lasso as they try their hand at barrel racing, breakaway roping, goat tying, bull riding, and more. If you don’t shout yee haw at least once, what is the point in going? Saddle up with concessions and enjoy the ride of a good ol’ western rodeo. Tickets, $6-$110. July 11-16. Hoedown Throwdown

Kick up your dancing boots at the Cavalcade Street Dance in downtown Pawhuska. Dancers will be able to two-step to headliners such as Tanner Usrey, The Great Divide, and others. Afterwards, enjoy a western rodeo, parade, or fireworks show. Pop it, lock it, and polka dot it with an evening of dance and country music. Tickets, $3-$85. July 13-18. Dust Bowl Blues

Woody Guthrie fans unite at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah. See country favorites such as Travis Linville and Samantha Crain perform all your favorite tunes. Festival goers can also attend a once-in-a-lifetime panel and performance with composer David Amram. Celebrate the man, the myth, the legend while enjoying his songs and long-living philosophies. Peachy Keen

There are peaches galore at the Stratford Peach Festival. Head down to Stratford City Park and enjoy a multitude of peach-flavored treats or take home a bushel from the seven orchards within the area. While you gorge yourself on peaches, make a “pit” stop and watch festival events such as the ugly dog contest, turtle races, and car show. Family First

Is that Vin Diesel? No, that’s just an ad for the hundredth car movie he’s in. Either way, put the pedal to the metal at the Northeast Oklahoma Autocross in Muskogee. Spectators can cheer on each driver as they zoom past in sports cars and maneuver around orange cones and obstacles. Spend a day at the races at Muskogee-Davis Regional Airport and witness an excellent example of fast and furious competition. Admission, Free. July 18. (720) 937-0731 or neoklascca.org
