Pig Tales

People talk about the dog days of summer, but along the shores of beautiful Lake Eufaula, the “hawg” days of summer are the talk of the town. On July 25 through 27, Whole Hawg Days & Poker Run will take over the city of Eufaula. Thursday night features an arts and crafts festival and rodeo. On Friday, they’ll still be crafting and rodeoing with an evening parade downtown at 7 p.m. But Saturday is when the real “hawg” action starts, with a poker run starting at 9 a.m. Participants will travel around and gather poker cards to compete for the best hand. But there will also be a barbecue cookoff, Indian taco sale, car show, garage sale, volleyball, street dance, and, yes, more arts and crafts and rodeo. For more information, call (918) 689-2791.
July 25-27. Registration $225-$250. facebook.com

The Blond Bomber

He’s not a true comedian, but he sure says a lot of funny stuff. You might know Terry Bradshaw as the Hall of Fame, four-time Super Bowl winning former quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers or as the part-analyst part-class clown on the set of Fox NFL Sunday. You might even know him from his family’s reality series The Bradshaw Bunch, filmed in part from his former Oklahoma ranch near Thackerville. But this Friday, July 26th, those attending The Terry Bradshaw Show live at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa will know him as the master of ceremonies. The jocular sports and TV personality will take the stage and regale the crowd with stories from his playing days and take us behind the scenes on the popular Fox studio show and the movies he has been in, such as Smokey and the Bandit II, The Cannonball Run, and Father Figures. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and show starts at 8:00 p.m.
July 26. Tickets, $39.50. hardrockcasinotulsa.com.

Janet Planet

So recently, we got a random email asking if we wanted to come interview Tito Jackson. And if you listen to the podcast regularly, you heard the result. But it’s not just Any Time, Any Place that a member of pop music’s first family reaches out and asks if you want to take an Escapade. And since we around here like to take Control when it comes to our Pleasure Principles, we think you should take your Jacksoning in-hand and get a ticket to see Janet Jackson at Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center this Friday, July 26. This pop-culture queen will perform her way through five decades of hits from ‘80s gems like “Let’s Wait Awhile” and “When I Think of You” to ‘90s hits including “Got ‘Til It’s Gone” and “Scream” all the way through 2000s bangers like “All For You” and “Doesn’t Really Matter.” And if you get to the end of the show and haven’t heard your favorite track, well, That’s the Way Love Goes.
July 26. Tickers, $35.95-$496. ticketmaster.com
Need for Speed
By Karlie Ybarra
Many folks dream of speeding down the road in a shiny new Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or other fancy-schmancy car. But with vehicle prices and Oklahoma insurance rates, those dreams often must be deferred in lieu of food, medicine, rent—boring basics like that. However, Hallett Racing Circuit in Jennings has the perfect compromise. During their Xtreme Xperience July 26 and 27, they'll allow drivers to traverse the 1.8-mile track in one of their luxury sports cars. Friends and family can cheer on their road hogs from the stands, but it'll be hard to hear over the purr of the fine engine and the ecstatic beating of your heart. There also will be driving instructors on hand to make sure everyone is being safe.
July 26-27. Ride-alongs, $79. Xtreme Xperiences starting at $249.. thextremexperience.com.

There will also be meet and greets with celebrities, including Brad Loree from Halloween: Resurrection, Ken Kirzinger from Freddy vs. Jason, and Bonnie Aarons from the Conjuring universe, just to name a few.
