Sun Sa-libations

Yoga is relaxing for some people, but if you ask us, it’s even more relaxing when you pair a downward dog with a pilates pilsner. If that sounds like your kind of yoga, check out the weekly Beer Yoga Mondays at Whirlwind Book Bar in Altus. Craft beer and wine are available for purchase, as well some non-alcoholic refreshments if you like to stretch sober. July 6. Admission, $5. facebook.com

Saddle Up

For more than fifty years, the annual Carnegie Rodeo has energized audiences with daring feats of horsemanship from up-and-coming cowboys and cowgirls. Visitors can see them compete in barrel racing, calf roping, bull riding, double mugging, break away, team roping ribbon roping, and ranch riding at the Carnegie Lower Park Rodeo Arena. The concession stand will be open for those seeking snacks, including hamburgers that may or may not have come from last year’s roping targets. July 10-11. Tickets, $10. TravelOK.com

Permanent Record

Choosing a tattoo design can be a difficult decision, not to mention figuring out which artist you trust to put ink to skin. If only there was a giant tattoo convention to supply people with everything they need in making this permanent decision. Oh, wait, there is! The second annual Oklahoma City Tattoo Arts Convention returns to the Cox Convention Center featuring tattoo artists from across the state and around the world to show off their art and discuss designs with potential customers. July 10-12. Admission, $20-$40. villainarts.com

Blackberries As Far As The Eye Can See

Beginning in the 1940s, the McLoud Blackberry Festival has drawn crowds from across the state to enjoy a weekend of all things blackberry. This year’s event is a bit different from years past, with drive-thru fresh blackberries, jam, and T-shirts for sale. Traffic can enter Park Street from the southbound lane of McLoud Road and travel west down to the “old” intermediate school building parking lot. Customers must remain in their cars, then exit north on Sixth Street. A fireworks show begins at 10 p.m. and guests are asked to stay in their cars or socially distance while enjoying the show. July 11. Admission, Free. TravelOK.com
