Amen
When the fiery heat of summer rages on Oklahoma, many of us comfort ourselves with the belief that it must be five o’ clock somewhere. Join in the worship of quittin’ time at Tulsa’s The Vault for the Holy Trinity of food, cocktails, and vinyl Wednesday evenings. Sip some potent potables and munch on some of The Vault’s much-loved cuisine on The Tom Tom Room patio while enjoying the sounds of DJ Afistaface. June 24. Admission, Free. facebook.com

Salute the Kernels
While the weather is boiling and roasting the entire state, those feeling salty ought to just say “Shucks” and head to Fort Gibson’s twelfth annual Sweet Corn Festival. Get ready for a cacophony of corn crunching with bushels for sale, smoked corn by the ear, and even some not-so-suffering succotash—a corn dish made with lima beans and other bean varieties. And if you need a break from eating, there’s also live music, arts and crafts vendors, and fun events including rock climbing, bungee jumping, bumper cars, and more. June 26-27. Ropin’ and Ridin’
After riding the couch and rustling up a remote control for the past few months, the Pauls Valley Round-Up Club offers something a bit more exciting. The Heritage Days Rodeo is a weekend full of action-packed Western events including saddle bronc, bareback riding, calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and bull riding. Get your family friendly fun in Pauls Valley and see who takes home the top titles. June 26-27. Admission, $5. TravelOK.com
Dynamic Duos
Golf is usually a sport where it’s every man for himself, but at River Oaks Golf Club’s 2-Man Championship in Edmond, it is every two men for themselves. Celebrate a late Father’s Day with a weekend for best buds who want to sink a few putts. The club provides breakfast, so it’s up to you to bring your swing. Playing solo? Ask in advance and the club can pair you with a partner who might just be your new doubles partner. June 27-28. Admission, $85. riveroaksgolf.com

We are all trying our best to remain safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and so is Arts Council Oklahoma City.
