On Your Marks

ATVs. Classic cars. Horses. Cross country. 5Ks. Oklahomans love a race and in Oklahoma City’s Wheeler District, the Wheeler Criterium is the place to be to see the best in the state peddling for glory every Tuesday night from spring through fall. Grab a drink and a bite inside The Big Friendly Brewery & Taproom and then step outside and watch bicyclists pushing themselves to the limit against their fellow racers. March 22. Admission, Free. wheelerdistrict.com

Do You Really Wanna?

As the band Wig Wam taught us in the 2010 song “Do You Wanna Taste It?”, what’s going up must come down. And at the Taste of Yukon event at the Dale Robertson Center, which is coming up this week, diners will be downing food from twenty-two local restaurants including Bad Brad’s Bar-B-Q, Green Chile Kitchen, The Lokal, and more. With dishes ranging from pizza and tacos to coffee and dessert, there’s sure to be something for every palate. March 24. Tickets, $7-$12. yukonok.gov

These Dang Adults and Their Rap Music

Calvin Broadus Jr., O’Shea Jackson Sr., and Warren Griffin III, all aged fifty or older, will bring the seasoned perspectives of three long-time entertainers to Tulsa this week. Or, as might make more sense to the popular culture, Snoop Dog and Ice Cube, with special guest Warren G, will be live in concert at the BOK Center in Tulsa for a show that is somehow just as awesome now as it would have been in 1996. March 24. Tickets, $33.50-$233.50. bokcenter.com

Take the Bait

Cast away your boredom and reel in some fun when Major League Fishing’s Redcrest Outdoor Sports Expo comes to the Tulsa Expo Center. This three-day event features more than one hundred and thirty booths with all the fishing, boating, hunting, camping, and outdoor excitement audiences can handle. Fishing legend Jimmy Houston will be on hand as well as plenty of live music and huge giveaways. March 25-27. Admission, Free. majorleaguefishing.com

I Know Craft-Fu

Sorry, Matrix fans, but when Miami hosts the NEO Craft Fair it has almost nothing to do with Keanu Reeves being the chosen one. Almost, because there’s a non-zero percent chance that someone at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College has created a very cool John Wick-inspired decoupage that can be purchased alongside other crafts to help support the NEO Honors Program. Follow the Red Brick Road

It’s not exactly a state secret, but lots of people attend art festivals more for the food than the art. So you’ve got to hand it to Enid for embracing reality with the Red Brick Road Food Truck & Art Festival, which has no problem putting the emphasis on tasty treats while still understanding that walking around and looking at art is integral to the experience. Try the sweet and the savory while listening to live music and enjoying Enid’s bucolic splendor. March 26 & 27. Admission, $3-$5. visitenid.org
