Demon of the House

By Karlie Ybarra
For more than 600 centuries, the ghost with the most has been raising heck and vexing the living and the dead, so it’s about time Beetlejuice got his own multiverse. His second film currently is streaming, and now he has his own musical. In fact, the juice will be set lose upon OKC November 19 through the 24th at the Civic Center. Audiences are sure to have the time of their afterlives as they hear an all-new take on Tim Burton’s tale of how Beetlejuice met Lydia—and then proceeded to torture her family and try to force the teen into marriage—kind of like the Music Man if he were an immortal trickster demon. Tickets to OKC Broadway Presents: Beetlejuice the Musical Musical Musical are $35 to $137 dollars.

Rock Cycle

We work hard here at Oklahoma Today, but truly, one of the best things about this job is the chance to occasionally go and do some of the things we tell you about. To wit! A few years back, a couple of our coworkers and I got to go to CrossBar Ranch in Davis to drive Polaris ATVs all over the Arbuckle Mountains. We had the best time.
But since I speak from experience, I can tell you that RockFest, happening at CrossBar Ranch from Wednesday, November 20 to Saturday, November 23, is going to be a great time. This place has more than 150 miles of trails, and during this event, you can explore them with the help of Oklahoma Adventure Riders. You can take a guided tour of the property with a knowledgeable guide, or bring a friend and explore on your own. The truly adventurous can even rent a motorcycle if they call in advance. To do so—or to just get more information—call (580) 716-0531 or visit okadvriders.com.

Step into a world of medieval splendor at the Boare's Head Feaste, taking place at The Castle of Muskogee on November 23, beginning at 7:00 p.m. This immersive, historical dining experience invites guests to dine alongside Queen Elizabeth in the grand halls of a majestic castle. Enjoy a five-course feast crafted by the Queen's own chef, featuring hearty meats, fresh vegetables, and a decadent dessert to conclude your meal.
Enjoy entertainment from minstrels, belly dancers, and a host of performers as you savor the delicious fare in this lively and festive atmosphere. The evening will feature the ceremonial presentation of the boar’s head, the traditional centerpiece of the feast, symbolizing both abundance and revelry. The castle’s authentic medieval decorations and period costumes will transport you to a time of merriment and camaraderie.
Start with a platter of cheeses, grapes, and fresh bread, followed by a choice of warm soup or fresh salad. The main course includes a juicy pork steak with roasted potatoes and green beans, before indulging in a rich, creamy cheesecake for dessert. A cash bar will be available, offering wine, ale, and soft drinks to pair with your meal. Advance reservations are required.
November 23. Admission, $16-$75. okcastle.com

Run Run Rudolph

By Ben Luschen
Alright all you intrepid explorers, who is ready to face the elements for a run through The Yukon during this week’s Chill Your Cheeks 5K. Actually, I’m going to be real, this is a run through Yukon, Oklahoma, not through the frigid Canadian Yukon territory, and though we’re recording this a few weeks in advance and anything is possible weather-wise, I’m beginning to doubt we will be seeing true cheek-chilling conditions for this run Saturday, November 23, through Chisholm Trail Park. But hey, that should actually be a good thing, right? Because the last thing I want to worry about when completing the 5K run at 5:00 p.m. or Jingle Walk at 5:30 p.m. during the running exhibition that coincides with Yukon’s Christmas in the Park event, is catching hypothermia. It also means conditions should be good for the Mascot Dash at 4:30 p.m., wherein mascots from high schools and colleges across the region will compete in a hundred-yard dash for costumed supremacy. I’ve got a big bet riding on Buddy Broncho. Online registration for the 5K and Jingle Run can be done for $25-$30 at yukonok.gov, but the digital portal closes by Tuesday. Not to worry though, because you will still be allowed to register in-person the day of the race for $35-$40. So come one, come all to the Chill Your Cheeks run, even if the only cheeks getting chilled are from the Icy Hot applied by those who didn’t stretch properly beforehand. For more information call (405) 350-5941 or email Braydan Castrop at bcastrop@yukonok.gov.
