Despite the image of Oklahoma held by many of our fellow United States, we're not all ropin', ridin', bronco-bustin' cowboys and cowgirls fresh from winning an over-sized belt buckle at the rodeo. Some of us can ride. A few of us can rope. And, at least among the staff of Oklahoma Today, most of our belt buckles are fairly sedate. That said, the reputation comes from somewhere. A quick look through TravelOK.com's calendar will prove that we still hold a passel of rodeos on the regular—a tradition that stretches back more than a century.
