With Oklahoma Today's Food Issue hitting mailboxes soon, it got us thinking about the pride and joy of Oklahoma's culinary scene: The Official State Meal. Lots of states have official dishes or ingredients—blueberries are the state fruit of Maine, snickerdoodles are the official state cookie of Connecticut—but Oklahoma went ahead and created a massive feast to represent our state's history. Good luck fitting it all in for one repast, though. Barbecued pork and chicken-fried steak? Biscuits with sausage gravy and cornbread? Corn plays a huge role, actually—in addition to cornbread, grits and plain old corn are on the menu. That said, Oklahoma's not the only state with an official state meal.
What other U.S. state has an official state meal?
