The fireworks won’t hit the skies until July 4, but this annual central-Oklahoma event actually kicks off this week. In 2002, both USA Today and CNN named it one of the top ten July 4th festivals in the nation. While the Independence Day celebration has been going strong in its home city since 1923, it didn’t get its official name until 1987.

What is the name of the festival and in which city is it held?
