May 24, 1938 is a date that will live in infamy, at least for people who “just have to pop in for a minute” and would prefer not to get ticketed. That was the day when Oklahoma lawyer Carl C. Magee received his patent for the parking meter. Of course, it was three years prior that the first parking meter was installed in Oklahoma City, thanks to a pair of engineering professors at Oklahoma State University who designed the meters for Magee.

Who were the engineering professors at OSU who designed the original parking meter?
